Lesson Ordering

The Order field on each lesson determines its position within the course. Lessons are displayed to students sorted by this number in ascending order.

Setting the Order

• Lesson with Order 1 appears first
• Lesson with Order 2 appears second
• And so on

Reordering Lessons

To change the order of lessons:

1. Open the lesson you want to move
2. Change the Order field to the new position number
3. Update any other lessons that need to shift

Example: To move Lesson 3 to position 1:

1. Change current Lesson 1's order to 2
2. Change current Lesson 2's order to 3
3. Change current Lesson 3's order to 1

Best Practices

• Use increments of 1 — Keep ordering simple (1, 2, 3, 4...)
• Plan your order before creating lessons — It's easier to create lessons in sequence
• Leave no gaps — Avoid orders like 1, 2, 5, 10. While it works, it's harder to maintain
• Check the course page — After reordering, visit the course page to verify the lesson sequence looks correct

Organizing Your Course

When planning your lesson structure:

1. Start with fundamentals — Place introductory lessons first
2. Build progressively — Each lesson should build on the previous one
3. Group related topics — Keep related lessons adjacent
4. End with a summary — Consider a final review or next-steps lesson
